Dr Shields obtained her Bachelors degree in Animal Science from Washington State University prior to graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine at WSU in 2016.  Prior to veterinary school and during veterinary school, she worked as veterinary assistant in the surgery department.  Dr. Shields completed a small animal rotating internship in Denver at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital.  She is joining SVS as a surgery intern. Dr. Shields clinical interests include thoracic and orthopedic surgery.  Dr. Shields enjoys reading, running and taking her energetic dog, Cosmos, to Marymoor in her free time. Dr. Shields also loves to travel and wants to run a half marathon in every state.
