Rhinoscopy

Written by Dana Brooks, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM

Rhinoscopy is frequently performed for dogs and cats with unexplained nasal discharge or changes in upper respiratory sounds.  Foreign bodies, tumors, fungal disease and allergic disease can all be diagnosed in this manner using a fiberoptic endoscope to visualize the nasal passages and obtain biopsies.  Pets are usually discharged the same day as the procedure.
