Tracheobronscoscopy

Written by Dana Brooks, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM

Tracheobronchoscopy is the examination of the trachea and bronchi with a fiberoptic endoscope.  It is helpful for diagnosing collapsing trachea, chronic bronchitis and bronchial collapse, respiratory parasites and foreign bodies, pneumonia, respiratory cancer, and for obtaining samples for cytology and culture. It may be indicated if your pet has been experiencing a cough that has not resolved with medication.
