Seattle Veterinary Specialists is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Heidi MacLean, board certified Veterinary Cardiologist to our staff of specialists and ER doctors. Dr. MacLean will start seeing cases at SVS on April 1st.

Originally from Prince Edward Island, Canada, Dr. MacLean graduated with honors from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2000. After completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Virginia Tech in 2001, she went on to complete a three-year Cardiology residency and a Masters of Science degree (focusing on cats with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) at Virginia tech in 2004. She then earned board certification from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) in 2004. Following her residency, she went on to specialty private practice in upstate New York and then served as a clinical instructor at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals before moving to Washington. Dr. MacLean’s areas of interest include congenital heart disease, myocardial disease and congestive heart failure.

Dr. MacLean will be offering full service cardiology evaluation in dogs and cats. Her services will include; patient exam and client consultation, electrocardiograms, echocardiograms and medical management of cardiology cases. Dr. MacLean will work closely with our other specialists in the areas of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Critical Care, Radiology and Neurology to provide the best comprehensive management of your patients.
