The neurosurgery suite is located at the end of the sterile corridor, which isolates the surgical suites from the rest of the hospital. It contains state of the art equipment used for the treatment of surgical conditions of the brain and spinal cord. A Stryker TPS surgical power system, bipolar and monopolar cautery, System One surgical lights, a multiparameter patient monitor capable of measuring ECG, pulse oxymetry, side stream CO2 monitoring, invasive and non – invasive blood pressure and temperature are located in the room. Collectively, this equipment allows our surgeons to perform the most sophisticated neurosurgical procedures in a safe and comfortable environment. Typical procedures include hemilaminectomy to remove extruded disk material, exploratory spinal surgery for the treatment of spinal tumors, brain surgery, stabilizing procedures such as spinal fracture repair, atlanto – axial reduction and lumbosacral stabilization.
