Mona Qahwash joins us from the colder Midwest, originally from Michigan. She received her undergraduate degree in general zoology, and her DVM from Michigan State University in 2012. She was introduced to Seattle Veterinary Specialists as a student during a Neurology externship under Dr. Sean Sanders. Her quest continued with a small animal rotating internship at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville from 2012-2013, followed by a speciality internship in Neurology/Neurosurgery at Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta from 2013-2014, and finally, a three year residency program in Neurology/Neurosurgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison completed in the summer of 2017.

Dr. Qahwash is especially fascinated by seizures and disorders that mimic seizure activity.

When not attending to her furry and scaled companions, she enjoys exploring the local music scene, new outdoor adventures, and the occasional adrenaline-infused activity. Her quiet side dabbles in building computers, while the not-so quiet side dabbles in playing guitar. Along for the ride are her senior non-human companions: Purkinje the border collie, Jicser (GSXR) the cat, and Eddie Lizard, the bearded dragon.
